Río Celeste is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Costa Rica, and for good reason: the water runs a milky turquoise you have to see to believe. We hike into Tenorio Volcano National Park to bring you there for the photographs you came for.
From there we continue to a second waterfall on a sandy river, where swimming is possible whenever conditions allow.
The day also includes a short walk through a forest property to spot sloths, where our guides help you find sloths resting high in the canopy, along with other wildlife. Lunch is a traditional Costa Rican meal.

Explore one of Guanacaste’s most spectacular natural wonders, Located just a short ride away from Liberia, this waterfall is a giant cascading waterfall flowing over mossy rocks, which are visible through the transparent falls. The multiple thin streams of water combined to make the falls, which feed into a pool at the bottom, perfect for swimming and splashing around. What makes this experience special is being surrounded by a thick jungle forest, home to some species of monkeys.
The falls are a short and manageable hike from the parking lot down steps built into a natural environment.

Travel time depends on where you are staying. As a general guide from Liberia: around 1 hour to hotels in Liberia itself, 1 hour 15 minutes to the Papagayo area (El Coco, Ocotal, Playa Hermosa), 1 hour 45 minutes to Flamingo, Conchal and Brasilito, and about 2 hours to Tamarindo. We confirm your exact pickup time when you book.

Moderate. The trail into Tenorio Volcano National Park is well maintained but involves sustained walking.

What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 5 days before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations made 3 to 4 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 3 days before the tour are non-refundable.
