Two ecosystems in one day, and two completely different sets of animals.
The morning is spent on the water, drifting along one of Guanacaste’s most important rivers through dry tropical forest, one of the rarest habitats in Central America. Your guide watches the banks for crocodiles basking in the sun, herons, iguanas and river birds.
In the afternoon we cross into the rainforest and visit a farm where sloths hang in the canopy.
Fruit and coffee are served at the river, and lunch is a traditional Costa Rican meal.
Take a leisurely river ride along one of the most popular rivers of the Guanacaste Province. Keeping watch of the wildlife as we patrol the waters.

How far is it from my hotel?
Travel time depends on where you are staying. As a general guide from Liberia: around 1 hour to hotels in Liberia itself, 1 hour 15 minutes to the Papagayo area (El Coco, Ocotal, Playa Hermosa), 1 hour 45 minutes to Flamingo, Conchal and Brasilito, and about 2 hours to Tamarindo. We confirm your exact pickup time when you book.
What is the difficulty level?
Easy. The day combines a boat ride and a short farm walk, with very little physical demand.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch is included as part of the tour.
What is the minimum age for the tour?
1 year old. This is one of our most family-friendly tours.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 5 days before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations made 3 to 4 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 3 days before the tour are non-refundable.
